NDAL is a neuro-degeneration research laboratory established by the Suna and Inan Kirac Foundation and supported by Bogazici University, Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. NDAL conducts research for the neuro-degenerative diseases such as ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease. Zeo was asked to create branding for the laboratory that would speak to the patients affected and their families as well as the laboratory's role in research to find a cure.
The challenge was to talk DNA, neurons, and diseases while communicating their meaning on a human level.
Zeo created a symbol of hope in the form of a woman raising her arms towards the sky. The scientific nature of the assignment was leveraged by creating dimension through the DNA helix. The butterflies and all the other graphics surrounding the laboratory and those used in the collaterals are derived from the logo and add to this mission.
